Indiëlezing door Aad van der Hoeven

Het Comité 4 en 5 mei Nieuwegein organiseert sinds 2020 jaarlijks de Indië herdenking om stil te staan bij het einde van de Tweede Wereldoorlog in Zuidoost Azië op 15 augustus 1945.
Dit jaar organiseert het Comité i.s.m. de bibliotheek daarnaast ook een Indiëlezing. Deze wordt gehouden op donderdagavond 1 augustus en wordt gehouden door Aad van der Hoeven. Hij schreef het boek Van Garoet tot Uithoorn met daarin zijn herinneringen aan opgroeien op West-Java, de Japanse bezetting meemaken en de repatriëring naar Nederland. De lezing zal gaan over zijn boek en dan met name over de bezetting.

Toegang is gratis.
